How To Change Transmission Fluid 2012 Kia Sorento

Chosen Solution

The most likely scenario is, they are ripping you off! aka thieves. Unless there is a recollect detect for it, and then information technology should be done by the dealer for gratis. Or a TSB so it shouldn't happen that style.

Patently there is a special procedure but information technology has nothing to do with taking the unit out of the vehicle.

Watch this.

The transmission does not need to be taken out.. Cool. Just drain and refill. I purchase the Valvoline ATF fluid from Walmart for 17 bucks.. I did a drain and refill twice. There is a drain plug on lesser, refill plug on summit and a level plug in the middle.. Refill until it slowly runs from the centre plug. Very easy. Manual runs shine. Don't allow them BS you. They are there to make money..

I believe the dismantle is to modify the filter which is highly recommended with a fluid change. Wait at your owners manual about how often to change the fluid and how often to alter the filter. If this is an automated manual I recommend an inline fluid flush to too bleed and affluent the radiator libation or external cooler if there is one plus you are flushing with the torque convertor running (with engine running) and pumping more of the muddy fluid out, use a full case equally part of the affluent in my opinion.
